Your rights and safety are our top priority in our apartments, the common areas and the community as a whole. We want you to be safe and secure in every moment of your daily life.
These items can be difficult to bring up, however we ALWAYS want to hear your feedback.
What are your rights and Safety
You have a right to be safe and secure at all times. If you are feeling like you are not safe or secure, we WANT to hear from you.
Abuse can be defined as many different forms. These forms could be physical, emotional, sexual, financial, neglectful or discriminative abuse. For example, this could be someone hitting you, or saying hurtful things to you or acting in an inappropriate sexual manner when you don’t want them to.
Abuse in any form is never okay.
You have the right to be safe everywhere – at home, in the community and at work.
The different types of abuse and neglect
Physical abuse
When someone hurts your body, such as hitting, restraining you or causing physical pain.
Sexual abuse
When someone makes you do sexual things that you don’t want to do or they do sexual things to you that you do not want.
Financial abuse
When someone spends your money, takes your things, or makes you buy them things.
Emotional abuse
When someone does and says things to hurt your feelings.
Neglect
When someone does not give you the support or help you need. This could be not listening to you or not giving you enough food.
Discrimination
When you are treated differently or unfairly because of who you are, your abilities, what you believe, or where you are from.
We want to hear your feed back – speak to us
